I had 5 grafts on Friday 13th March 2009 at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. Though I am extremely grateful to my surgeon, Dr. MC Tong (The doctor who led the first heart transplant procedure in Singapore) and Dr. Philip Koh of the Heart Clinic at Mount E (Recommended to me as the best Cardiologist and I can testify to that), I wish to whole-heartedly thank my favourite niece, Jaslyn Tay who did all the arrangements to save my life; Jaslyn saw to it that I had the best physicians and arranged for me to receive the best attention during my ordeal. I am grateful dear; although your mum always brushed it off whenever I raised the subject of adopting you as my daughter, I have always love and regard you as one. I knew you are someone special in my life. You sacrificed time with the family and spent so much time at the hospital on me. Please thank your husband and children for bearing. Joseph even came by to visit with you; he is a great boy. Thanks Joe.
Special thanks should also be extended to all the nurses and staff of Ward 6A and at the ICU especially Joanne Seh; without whose alertness and professionalism, I would have lost my life that very night. Moe Moe, thank you very much too; for helping me out of trouble.
I also wish to thank Dr. Winston Jong for permitting Jaslyn the time to attend to my needs and for personally coming around to visit me at the ward. Special thanks to my Anaesthetist, Dr. Chew Sook Leung for her kindness and that special prayer.
To all my relatives and siblings, my brother Michael (Mong) and sister Jane, especially my eldest brother James, sister-in-law Hong Lan, and my dearest daughter Serene and her mum Emily, words are inadequate and cannot fully express my gratitude for your love and care extended to me. To Pamela, whom I always regard and love like a daughter, I was touched to tears by your gestures; I may not have expressed myself well, but I love you dearly Han. To my very special cousin, Mrs Lim, all my nieces especially Susie, Susan, Winnie, Mary, Jenny & Tay and nephews, my cousin Hwee Huang, My sister-in-law Mui, nephew Robin, niece Leng and her entire family I was pleasantly surprised by your visit, and I felt super good meeting you all again after so long; thank you very much. Tim, thank you for getting your dad to send gifts. I know you are a busy man. Appreciate it. Song Ho, thank you very much; your mum cant read this, but please extend my gratitude - she is more a mother to me than she is the wife of a cousin. I am eternally grateful for her love and concern. To my ex-wife Tina, thank you very very much for still caring and your precious gift.
I am also very grateful to Ann Lee for always being there; keeping Serene accompanied and looking after me - you are a gem. My friends Deborah, Jin Yu, Jin Ooi, Francis, Donna, Agnes, Aries, Kenny, Jenny, Guan Kia, Jackson, Catherine, Julie, Nana, Harenda, Lim, Koh Loh, Mike, Terris, Edward, Jerry Bateman and Sun Fu who came in all the way from Kuala Lumpur; thank you very much. To my colleagues and staff at the Agency, thank you all for your prayers and the wonderful card you designed especially for me. To Nary & Nida thank you for your tears and prayers. Ratana, Rama, Pagnarith, Little Rath, Bunna, Pich, Ratha, Phanny, Fong, Phirith and all my friends at Red Dot & Ladies Magazine - thank you very much for your prayers and well wishes.
There are just too many people to thank, should I have left out anybody here, please forgive me but do understand that I am truly grateful for having you all around. I am glad to be alive. You have all contributed to the fact - Thank you very very much.
